In line with its founding principles, ERFAN is dedicated to fostering scientific collaboration between Italy and Africa. During the first cycle of activities, ERFAN steadily expanded its network of partners, growing from 15 institutions in 2016 to 38 in 2025. Today ERFANs includes 31 African veterinary institutions (17 from Northern Africa, 14 from Southern Africa) and 7 Italian institutions, representing a total of 20 countries. To streamline collaboration, particularly in terms of logistics, language, and epidemiological priorities, the African partners were grouped into Northern and Southern regions.
